Noctua Forest: Marketing Science for Authors
If you’re reading this, you’re likely a fellow Night Owl.
In the quiet hours of the night, you’re awake. You’re a storyteller, but right now, you aren’t writing. You’re staring into the Amazon Ads console—a massive, unforgiving ecosystem with thousands of search results, sponsored placements, and moving data points.
Over the next two months, while I put the finishing touches on my upcoming book, I’m inviting you to look over my shoulder. Here in the forest, I’ll be dropping 1 to 3 posts every week.
New to the world of selling on Amazon? Start with our Glossary & Taxonomy Guide. If you want to learn more about what makes us a community read our about us page.
Noctua Forester (About Me)
For the last several years, I’ve managed high-velocity paid media portfolios in some of the most competitive retail categories. I’ve trained enterprise brands on how to operate here, and I’ve watched how easily sellers fundamentally misread the platform by treating the search bar like a calculator rather than a dynamic linguistic system.
From the Observatory, we are going to look at how the Amazon ecosystem actually functions. Not through oversimplified marketing templates, but through marketing science and weaponized semiotics. By analyzing the syntax of customer queries and mapping the exact relationship between what a reader types and what they intend to buy, we will translate the raw data of the A10 algorithm into a highly actionable strategy.
Let’s shine a light on some topics that scare us, together. 🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕
Thank you!
